The time has come again, with the middle of November comes Pirate’s  Week. The core of downtown George Town (Grand Cayman’s capital)  turns into mayhem, with pirate’s and wenches of all ages, re-enacting  what life may have been like when pirate’s invaded the ports many years  ago. Saturday afternoon a battle is re-enacted in Hog Sty Bay with  cannons firing as pirates storm the shores, this kicks off the giant  float parade. Last year, 2008, was the first year Black Pearl took part in  Pirate’s Week. We dismantled JR’s back yard ramp and put it on the back  of a trailer, with scraps of wood, rope, pvc tubing, and anything else  that worked we turned the mini ramp into a pirate ship. The skate park  locals skating the ramp dressed in pirate’s garb while our first place  winning float cruised through town followed by it’s entourage on  skateboard’s. This year we’ve added some new elements to the ramp,  not to mention it’s twice as high.
